Another AWPA Black Propaganda
Once again a clown called Joe Collins dances in a disgusting manner. In order to get public attention he tries to disturb Indonesia-Australia relation by calling on the Australian Defence Minister, Joel Fitzgibbon to raise the human rights situation in Papua. In contrast to Joe, the peaceful message from Pope Benedict XVI, in Easter message, didn’t mention about situation in Papua. Pope Benedict XVI prayed for peace in troubled parts of the world, singling out Darfur in Sudan and Somalia, “the tormented Middle East, especially the Holy Land, Iraq, Lebanon.”He also mentioned Tibet, a sensitive issue for the Vatican, which is working to improve ties with China, amid unconfirmed reports of direct talks here last week between Chinese and Vatican officials.
Most importantly, we should remember what he said on human relations: How often relations between individuals, between groups and between peoples are marked not by love but by selfishness, injustice, hatred and violence.
Indonesia is walking or running towards true democracy, Papuan is Indonesian and all Papuan can contribute not only locally within Papua land, but in all area of Indonesia and maybe can have a high position like Minister Freddy Numbery. What we should do is to support the democratization and economic development. Push Military and Police reform as part of the most significant change in human relations in Papua.

Press Release: Australia West Papua Association
AWPA Calls on the Australian Defence Minister Joel Fitzgibbon to raise the human rights situation and the behavior of the Indonesian military in West Papua with the Indonesia’s Defence Minister Juwono Sudarsono
Indonesia’s Defence Minister Juwono Sudarsono is in Australia to attend the East Asia Dialog Forum. While in Australia he will meet with Australia’s Defence Minister Joel Fitzgibbon. Joe Collins from the Australia West Papua Association said that “Australia’s Defence Minister should be raising concerns about the human rights situation and the behavior of the Indonesian military and police in West Papua with his Indonesian counter part”.
At the present moment nine West Papuan men face charges of plotting against the state, simply because of their involvement in a peaceful protest on the 13 March in Manokwari, where they displayed the West Papuan National Flag , the Morning Star.
Joe Collins said “how can Indonesia claim to be a democratic country if they arrested and imprison people simply for raising a flag. AWPA is concerned that military aid and training given to the Indonesian military (which the Lombok Treaty commits us to) could be used against the West Papuan people”.
Australian governments of all persuasions believe that a stabilised region to our north is our best defence. Yet it is the activities of the Indonesian military and police, their involvement in human rights abuses and resource extraction which will lead to the very instability that the government is trying to avoid.
Australia’s defence minister should not only raise the human rights situation in West Papua with the Indonesian defence minister but call on the Indonesian government to release all political prisoners including the nine arrested in Manokwari . If Indonesian wants to claim to be a democratic country it should stop imprisoning people for simply taking part in peaceful protests.

This Blog has gone through many obstacles and attacks from violent Free West Papua separatist supporters and ultra nationalist Indonesian since 2007. However, it has remained throughout a time devouring thoughts of how to bring peace to Papua and West Papua provinces of Indonesia.
Typical Indonesian thought; always like to assume and assume whichever they like. Look, you’re saying that the message from Pope which didn’t include Papua meant that Papua is a land-free of torture and injustice? You’re saying that Collins marked mishandled Papuan rights by Indonesian government to get him famous or some sort of attention? Have you read carefully about what Collins has been advocating West Papuan people to from past years till now? I like your idea in the phrase, “How often relations between individuals, between groups and between peoples are marked not by love but by selfishness, injustice, hatred and violence” because what you’re saying happen in Indonesia because of that’s what Indonesians want in their life such as injustice, hatred, and violence. Look what you’re saying next as I can quote, “Papuan is Indonesian and all Papuan can contribute not only locally within Papua land, but in all area of Indonesia and maybe can have a high position like Minister Freddy Numbery.” You see, now you shift from brutal mentality to high position objective!!! Man, Papuan[Freddy Numbery] is put in charge to show how equal everyone. You can’t generalize one person as the whole! What as mismatch opinion with current issues in Papua. Better think more before write boy! By the way, Papuan is not Indonesia! Unity in a diversity is a symbol created solely to unite different people which later will dominated by Javanese because you think you’re the only “bangsa beradab” and not others! That’s surely a joke!
