Jakarta – Members of the Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF) who shot at Intan Jaya were shot by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB). Here are the facts about the incident.

- TGPF departs for Hitadipa, Wednesday (7/10)
TGPF arrived at Intan Jaya, Papua on Wednesday (7/10) yesterday. Thursday (8/10), precisely at 07.05 WIT, TGPF departed from Mozes Kilangin Timika Airport to Sugapa Airport by using a chartered plane. The team arrived at Sugapa at 08.32 WIT.
- Shot by KKB after the crime scene
Last Friday (9/10), TGPF carried out the task of managing the scene of the shooting incident in Hitadipa District, Intan Jaya.
There were 18 people in TGPF, however, not all of the investigative teams left for Sugapa, but most of them were members of the investigation team, led by Benny Mamoto.
After finishing and returning from Hitadipa to Sugapa, TGPF was shot by the KKB in the afternoon, at 15:45 WIT. “It is true that KKB intercepted after the TKP proceedings at Hitadipa to Sugapa. One military victim and 1 investigation team,” said Head of Kogabwilhan III Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa.
- Exact location
The shooting took place in the area of Kampung Mamba Bawah, Hipadita District, Intan Jaya. To be precise, on the incline of Wagonopone, about 4 or 5 km ahead of Sugapa from the direction of Hitadipa. At that time, TGPF was returning from Hitadipa District heading to Sugapa.
Seen in the video, the location of the shooting was a road between hills and slopes that were overgrown with trees. The situation was tense when the shooting occurred. The car stopped, the security forces lay down holding their guns.
- Victims: 2 people were shot
There were two victims injured as a result of KKB gunfire:
- Hitadipa Apter Task Force, Faisal Akbar.
- UGM lecturer who entered the TGPF, Bambang Purwoko. Gunshot wounds to the left ankle and left wrist. Conscious condition.
6. The condition of the victim
Two of the victims were injured because of KKB shots. Sertu Faisal Akbar suffered a gunshot wound to the waist, conscious condition. Bambang Purwoko suffered gunshot wounds to his left ankle and left wrist, his condition was conscious.
The two victims were treated at Sugapa Hospital. While the TGPF group was in a safe location.
Bambang Purwoko is an academic from UGM. Everyday, he works as a lecturer. He is very concerned about the conditions in Papua.

- Perpetrator: Sabinus Waker Group
Papua Police Chief Inspector General Paulus Waterpauw said that the perpetrator of the shooting of the TGPF was the Sabinus Waker group, the younger brother of Ayub Waker. The group calling itself ‘kemabu’, has been operating since the end of 2019 at TEmbagapura, then shifted to Intan Jaya. They have 17 firearms.
“Sabinus Waker himself is the younger brother of Ayub Waker who died in 2019,” said Waterpauw, quoted by Antara, Friday (9/10).
“Currently, the TNI is pursuing the KKSB gang who fled into the forest around the scene after the shooting of the TGPF group,” said Kapen Kogabwilhan III) Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa in a written statement.
