Jakarta – The joint fact-finding team (TGPF) continues to investigate the shooting case of Pastor Yeremia Zanbani in Intan Jaya, Papua. Now, TGPF has succeeded in convincing the family to approve the autopsy of Pastor Jeremiah’s body.
“Today TGPF succeeded in convincing the family of Pastor Yeremia Zanambani to carry out an autopsy and sign the police investigation report,” said TGPF Chairman Benny Mamoto in a written statement received by detik.com, Sunday (11/10/2020).
Benny said that previously the family refused an autopsy. After obtaining permission from the family, the police will immediately conduct an examination of the body.
“Previously, the victim’s family did not want to sign the BAP from the police. An autopsy will be carried out on another occasion,” he explained.
Although there was a shooting incident against a TGPF member, Benny said that this did not hinder the target of the investigation. The joint team, said Benny, was continuing to work to gather information from various parties.
“We will do this until evening, so we will continue to pursue this target until it is achieved,” he said.
In addition, TGPF has carried out a number of investigative efforts. Among them, visited the location of the shooting scene, visited the cemetery and church, met the victims’ families and asked other witnesses in the field.
Meanwhile, all information and facts in the field will be analyzed and processed. Subsequently reported to the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud Md.
“All the information we get will be analyzed, we will evaluate, then we will report it to the Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security as the person in charge,” he said.
Benny also revealed that there were a number of obstacles during the investigation. For that, he also gave his appreciation to the TNI-Polri for always maintaining security and helping the team solve various problems.
“Indeed, the terrain conditions are very heavy, then the limitations of transportation-communication are all obstacles,” he explained.
As previously reported, the group of the Joint Fact Finding Team (TGPF), the shooting of Intan Jaya was intercepted and shot by an armed criminal group (KKB) in Hitadipa District, Papua. TGPF ensures that the investigation process continues.
“Currently the team is still in Sugapa and is continuing the investigation by examining a number of witnesses, including several people who were rescheduled yesterday. This examination is a follow-up to interviews with a number of witnesses at the shooting location of Reverend Yeremias Zambani in Hitadipa on Friday. being in Jayapura today also continues his task by meeting a number of parties, including church leaders, “said Head of Investigation at TGPF Intan Jaya Benny Mamoto in a written statement, Saturday (10/10/2020).
“Please pray that further plans will run smoothly, until we finish this task well,” he continued.
Benny said that currently TGPF is wearing self-safety with a bulletproof vest. The use of helmets and vests is part of the standard operating procedure (SOP) so that the team can be protected from attacks.
To note, two members of the TNI, one civilian, and Pastor Yeremia Zanambani died after being shot by KKSB members in Hitadipa, Papua. The TNI said the KKSB’s actions were to seek attention ahead of the main UN session.
