The use of special autonomy funds needs to be closely monitored

The use of special autonomy funds.

Jayapura (ANTARA) – Chairperson of the Nabire Regency Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB), Rev. Yohanis Mogidari, assessed that the sustainability of Otsus is very important for Papua and it is necessary to carry out strict supervision so that it is on target.

“In my opinion, by conducting strict evaluation and supervision, Otsus will make the community more prosperous, because it will be right on target,” he said in a written statement received by Antara in Jayapura City, Papua, Thursday.

He emphasized that Otsus for the welfare and good of the community deserves to be continued, but by conducting strict evaluation and supervision from the top leadership to the community.

“By involving influential people such as tribal chiefs or traditional leaders in order to provide good and correct understanding to residents,” he said.

Regarding the evaluation discourse regarding Otsus, he said, it is also good to see the situation and conditions in Papua, where the special autonomy funds are also reduced in the form of programs such as education, health, religion and others.

“The special autonomy fund is not only in the form of money, but the special autonomy fund can also be in the form of programs which certainly have a very positive impact on the sustainability of the people in Papua,” he said.

In principle, he said, his party supports the sustainability of Otsus, because Papua still needs development in all fields.
