Jayapura, MANUS.ID –Simple, smart and hardworking, these three words describe the figure of Onesimus Heluka, a young man born in Yahukimo, Papua on November 27, 1995.

The youngest of seven children is the younger brother of Yulianus Heluka, SH, the current Deputy Regent of Yahukimo Regency.

When remembering about the an important event of 25 years ago, his eyes filled with tears, because the next day after he was born, his mother Abiagam Payage died. He was then taken by a missionary with his uncle to the evangelistic area of ​​Yalimo, then raised by his first brother, Marthinus Heluka, S, Sos. Secretary of the Yalimo District Social Service.

Since he was in college he was already full with the organizational activism, in the 2014-2016 period, he was appointed as chairman of the 2nd Student Representative Council (DPMF) Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Cenderawasih University (Uncen).

When he was in the 6th semester at the FISIP Uncen , he was already involved in the business world by establishing CV Wesih Yaya and PT Wesih Laskar Matahari (WLM), which worked on a number of projects both at the district level and in Papua Province.

Even after graduating from Cenderawasih University, he still devoted himself to the world of business and youth as evidenced at the end of the 2017-2020. He was named chairman of the BPC Yahukimo Regency Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI) for the 2018-2020 period.

He was also head of the Indonesian National Defense Institute class, Lemhanas Alumni V, Strengthening the National Value of the Republic of Indonesia in Jakarta, and in mid-2019 he was awarded the 2019 Indonesia Top Leadership Acheement Award at Hotel Lumire Jakarta from the Citra Prestasi Bangsa Foundation. One prestigious award in Indonesia, from eight names throughout Indonesia, he is the only young Papuan who received the award.

As the main director of CV Wesih Yaya and PT Laskar Matahari (WLM), on many occasions, has always invited the young generation of Papua to take part in the development process in this rich paradise earth, don’t be spectators, we have to be masters of our own land, because he believes that the history of the world is the history of youth, if the youth are numb, a nation will die.

Another thing that sticks to him is a simple figure and adhering to the principles, one of the many young people owned by Papua, thus it is not too much to say that brother Onesimus Heluka is the leader of millennial Papuan.
