Jayapura (ANTARA) – The Papua Provincial Government has released the Anti-Coronavirus Youth (PAC) from 25 sub-districts in Jayapura City in two separate places, namely Trisula Hamadi Field and Kotaraja Brimob Field.

Deputy Governor of Papua Klemen Tinal in Jayapura, Monday said that the young generation recruited as Anti-Corona Youth in Papua is expected to become agents of change to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
“The reason we recruited these young people was because they were more aggressive and interactive, especially in their respective environments,” he said.
According to Klemen, the recruitment of Anti-Corona Youth volunteers is a new method which is expected to further reduce the number of COVID cases in Papua and Jayapura City in particular.
“So in addition to youth in Jayapura City, we will also pay attention to youth in other districts to be mobilized in preventing the spread of COVID-19,” he said.
In line with Klemen Tinal, Christian Sohilait, PAC Coordinator for Jayapura City, said that a total of 2500 young volunteers were equipped with uniforms and pocket books.
“In the pocket book, we wrote down what PACs should do in their respective neighborhoods down to the contact numbers of the relevant agencies,” he said.
He added that his party hopes that in the next two weeks, there will be a change in the number of COVID-19 cases because these PACs have started moving in their respective environments.
