Ilaga (ANTARA) – Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) and their entourage made a working visit to Puncak Regency, Papua, to check the development of telecommunications access and the availability of internet networks in the local area.
Member of Commission I DPR RI Yan Permenas Mandenas in Ilaga, Friday, said his party continues to encourage the Ministry of Communication and Information to accelerate the development of telecommunications access in all 3T areas (disadvantaged, frontier and outermost areas).
“We chose Puncak Regency as the target to be visited so that it becomes a special barometer that if a difficult area can be built then this is the success of the government,” he said.
According to Yan, this development is what the government wants in terms of equity throughout Indonesia, including Papua.
“Namely to organize policies in order to accelerate the development of telecommunication access and internet networks in 3T areas,” he said.
In line with Yan Permenas Mandenas, Puncak Regent Willem Wandik said that his party appreciated and expressed his gratitude for the visit of the Commission I DPR RI group in relation to the acceleration of telecommunication access development.
“Moreover, by bringing the Bakti Foundation, PT Telkom Witel Papua to see first hand the conditions of communication in Puncak Regency,” he said.
He added that his party hopes that with the presence of the DPR RI Commission I team and entourage, it can see firsthand the problem of telecommunications and the availability of internet networks in Puncak Regency.
