Sorong (ANTARA) – The Tanah Papua song has been officially registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights as communal intellectual property belonging to the West Papua Provincial Government.
The head of the West Papua Kemenkumham Regional Office, Antonius Ayorbaba in Sorong, Tuesday, said that the Tanah Papua song had been registered and received a communal intellectual property certificate by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.
He explained that by obtaining the communal intellectual property certificate, the song Tanah Papua which was composed by Yance Rumbino has officially become the property of the West Papua Provincial Government.
Therefore, he said, whoever produces the latest song in his album must obtain permission from the West Papua Provincial Government as the owner of the communal intellectual property.
According to him, the song is officially sung at every government activity in all districts and cities of West Papua province by mentioning the name of the song’s creator and owner.
It is said that the song Tanah Papua is registered with the Ministry of Law and Human Rights so that communal intellectual property which is local wisdom expressed in traditional music can be preserved and preserved throughout the ages.

“The West Papua Provincial Government has given an award to the songwriter of Tanah Papua. The award in the form of coaching money has been handed over to the songwriter by the Governor of West Papua at the West Papua Province Anniversary celebration in October 2020,” he added.
