More lies on West Papua Story

It is normal for both democratic Indonesia and the United Kingdom to see exiles from West Papua demonstrated in Reading Festival to instigate a packed audience that included the mayor and mayoress about their fight for separating Papua province from Indonesia. South East MEP Dr Caroline Lucas, leader of the Green Party, also spoke at the meeting on October 17, 2008.

Benny Wenda, a criminal and conflict provocateur which also a chairman of the Koteka Tribal Assembly, cleverly delivered false information that in West Papua there are rape, torture and murder and nobody knows about it.

How can Benny Wenda fabricated such stories? It is simply because Richard Samuelson told him so.

The press in Indonesia is one of the freest in Asia and we can compare it to Western countries like UK. We can read anything that happen in West Papua province through the lens of local media, national media or even the internet. The problem is that some group instigate the story for political strategy.

It is not the military who put Benny Wenda in Prison, it is the Police through legal process. Furthermore Benny Wenda held a brutal demonstration by doing violence. He was in prison for nine months in 2002 before he escaped by the help of corrupt prison guard. Nobody want to kill him, he was shot at his legs because he brutally attack a police officer.

Now, Benny Wenda live a happy life in UK by the support of UK governement. But look what he has done, he campaign through out UK by the help of some UK citizen to disturb Indonesia-UK bilateral relationship by putting pressure on the British government to support separatist movement of Papua.

No matter how bad the result of Benny Wenda’s activities in UK, I still believe that Jesus Christ will open his heart and eyes to see the big change in Papua and West Papua provinces. I hope he will realise that we need him not as a conflict provocateur, but we need him as a genuine political negotiator for the better place of Papua.

Benny Wenda, please stop telling lies to UK citizen. God will forgive you if you repent and start more ethical activities in the process of creating a better place of Papua.
