Sentani, Jayapura, Papua – The Jayapura Regency Communication and Information Agency (Diskominfo) handed over 6,538 books along with two bookcases for the “Onomi Niphi” reading house in Yoboi Village, Sentani District.
Acting Head (Plt) Head of the Jayapura Regency Communication and Information Agency Gustaf Griapon in Sentani, Monday, said that the books submitted on Saturday (22/8) were collected in collaboration with the Papua Provincial Government and outside Papua by asking for book donations.
“The books we got came from working together with our partners, both in Papua and outside Papua. Our partners help donate books to be submitted directly to the management of the” Onomi Niph “reading house in Yoboi,” he said.
According to him, one of the partners who contributed the book was the Papuan Child Evangelism Institute, the big family of Sigit Widodo and Mrs. Amanda in Jakarta.
“I hope that in the future this kind of cooperation will continue to be built in order to support government programs, especially in the field of education,” he said.
Gustav would like to thank all partners who have contributed to increasing interest in reading, especially for children in Yoboi Village in particular and in general in Jayapura Regency.
With this assistance, he said, it could be utilized well by school children and the community in Yoboi Village to gain insight and improve the culture of reading.
Previously, Jayapura Diskominfo had visited the Yoboi Village and saw that there was a Reading house in Yoboi Village but the number of books was so few that it had the initiative to help donate books.
Meanwhile, the founder of the reading house “Onomi Niphi” in Yoboi Village, Hanny Felle, admitted that he was very grateful and grateful to the Jayapura Regency Government, in this case Diskominfo for helping to complete the shortcomings in the Yoboi Village.
“So far, the books at the reading house are really lacking so that this assistance becomes an answer. We always pray to God and God has answered our prayers through Diskominfo,” he added.
