Jayapura (ANTARA) – The Chancellor of Cenderawasih University (Uncen) Jayapura Dr Ir Apolo Safanpo ST, MT denied his statement regarding Special Autonomy (Otsus) and the expansion of Papua which went viral on social media in Jayapura City.

“Not true. I have never made a statement like that and I have never written anything like that,” he said when contacted from Jayapura City, Papua, Wednesday.

According to him, information related to the statement of Otsus and the viral expansion had become a topic of conversation as well as a question for members of the WhatsApp (WA) group We Uncen.

“And I have clarified that within the WA group We Uncen, that the statement is not true,” he said.

So that in connection with this, he said, on behalf of the institution or campus of the Cenderawasih University (Uncen) Jayapura had officially sent a letter of complaint to the Papua Police Headquarters to carry out a search or investigation to find the perpetrators of the Otsus and pemekaran statements so that they could be processed legally.

“Earlier, we conveyed it directly to the Papua Police Chief Inspector General Pol Paulus Waterpauw so that this case would be investigated,” he said.

This false statement or hoax on behalf of the Uncen Chancellor, since Wednesday morning has been widely circulated on various social media such as Facebook and WhatsApp.

The political statement is as if the political statement was made by Apolo Safanpo, whose contents include Papua which will become a massive natural resource exploitation field because Otsus and pemekaran will open access and provide full guarantees to foreign and Indonesian capitalists. As a result, indigenous people are displaced, marginalized, isolated from their own country.
