Rebuilding PLN Wamena Office

Wamena (ANTARA) – The PLN Wamena office in Jayawijaya Regency, Papua Province, which was burned down during the September 23, 2019 riots, is planned to begin rebuilding in early 2021.

PLN Wamena Customer Service Implementation Unit (UP3) Manager Robert Mofu via telephone on Sunday said that the groundbreaking of construction had been carried out and that their office was planned to be built in 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation, the plan was hampered.

“Only because there is COVID-19 so it is a bit of a hindrance in terms of the budget, but also because the mobilization is also somewhat disrupted. But hopefully the information will be built early next year,” he said.

The design of the office to be built at the PLN Wamena Housing location adjacent to the Jayawijaya Regent’s Office is also ready.

“I haven’t had a chance to see the final drawing but the plan may be two floors,” he said.

Based on the information received, said Robert, two PLN offices will be built at once, namely the UP3 Office and the Wamena Kota ULP Office.

He said that currently his party is still contracting a temporary building to replace the PLN office which was burned down by the masses, so that the service there is not as good as when they had their own office.

“With the condition of the office that we are currently contracting, it does not fully support us in providing services. If there is an office, we can arrange it in such a way so that services run better,” he said.

After the riots in Wamena 2019, the BUMN Minister visited the PLN office and laid the groundwork for the construction of the office.
