Free West Papua Separatist Terrorist Group killed innocent medical personnel in Papua

Head of the Bureau of Communication and Community Services, Ministry of Health, drg. Widyawati, MKM conveyed her deep condolences and regretted the violent incident by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB) experienced by health workers in the Kiwirok District. Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua.
“We deeply regret what happened, so Ms. Gabriela Meilan died in carrying out her duties,” said drg. Widyawati, Thursday (16/9) in Jakarta.
His party previously received information from the Papuan Regional Police regarding acts of violence by KKB experienced by health workers in Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains Regency. Of the 10 health workers, as many as 8 people have secured themselves at the TNI post.
Meanwhile, two health workers were previously declared detained by the KKB. After a search was carried out by the TNI-Polri, one person was found alive, and another person was dead and is currently still waiting for the evacuation process.
drg. Widyawati is grateful for the quick action of the TNI-POLRI in finding the two victims, and hopes that the TNI-POLRI can take firm action against the KKB.
“Health workers are at the forefront of ensuring public health services, so their safety is the main thing. Moreover, Indonesia is still fighting the Covid-19 pandemic where the role of health workers is very crucial,” added drg. Widyawati.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Health will coordinate with the police to obtain information on the development of the case.
