New Zealand Embassy Visits Papua Provincial Government to Discuss Already Established Cooperation

TRIBUN-PAPUA.COM, JAYAPURA – The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Papua warmly welcomes the visit of the Official of the Embassy of New Zealand, on Papua, which also known as bumi cenderawasih (the land of the bird of paradise).

For your information, the New Zealanders diplomat Patrick Fitzgibbon carried out a working visit to the Papua Provincial Government to enhance the cooperation that had been built so far.

Through this momentum, the Second Secretary (Political) of the New Zealand Embassy, ​​Patrick Fitzgibbon, said that this visit was the first visit to Papua in the last 3 years.

“I thank the Papuan Provincial Government for welcoming us warmly,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon to the media crew at the Papua Governor’s Office, Wednesday (18/9/2022).

Patrick said that during this visit, his party discussed issues of mutual interest between the Papua Provincial Government and the New Zealand Government.

Not only that, his party also discussed various opportunities to increase cooperation between the two parties, said Patrick.

“We also discussed various opportunities to increase cooperation between Indonesia and New Zealand, especially with the Papua Provincial Government,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Assistant for the Government of the Papua Province Secretariat, Doren Wakerkwa said, this visit was in order to enhance the cooperation that the ambassador had carried out with the New Zealand ambassador in Jakarta.

“For 3 years they have never come and today they are visiting Papua,” he said.

Doren said this visit discussed various things.

“Many inputs and suggestions have been discussed, as well as being a reference for the Papuan government to take steps to build an aspect of development in Papua,” he said.
