Ayub Antoh: West Papuan Student in Solo
The following story was sent to West Papua Blog by West Papuan student who watched Kompas TV on 15 june 2020 webinar.
As a Papuan student studying in Java, Ayub Antoh said that he would return to Papua again and build Sorong.
Regarding racism, he also said that he had never felt an act of racism personally, but according to him so far it was well received by the people in Java. In general he stated that racism could be suppressed, by introducing a diverse Indonesia.
He said we all have to look after Unity in Diversity and should to live in harmony with one another. He also said, in this world we only live once, we must have a peaceful life between one another to maintain unity.
As students we must know what our goals are for, if we focus on going to school, we must stay focused on going to school and he said that as students we should not be easily provoked by other parties.
He said an increase in Human Resources is needed in the empowerment of Papua. As part of Papuan society, we all must be able to prove that Papua has the ability.
Regarding National sports competition (PON), he added that PON should show the existence of Papua as 100 percent of Indonesia and 100 percent of Papua who highly respect and uphold the brotherhood.
According to him education is the most important factor on human resources. Papuan students studying outside the Papua region can apply knowledge to Papuans so that later Papuans do not have to leave Papua to get proper education.
This is another great comment from a humble West Papuan student.
