Papua Special Autonomy The Right Solution for Community Welfare
Special Autonomy The Right Solution
Jakarta (West Papua Blog – WPB), John Siffy Mirin (Member of the Indonesian Parliament from Papua) said that Special Autonomy (Otsus) is a solution for the welfare of Papua. That way, local problems with all the potential and creativity that the regions have can be resolved and can be channeled appropriately.
John assessed that basically the philosophical foundation of Otsus is very good, it only needs to be evaluated in order to achieve people’s welfare.
“The basic intentions are good, it’s just that the implementation has to be evaluated a lot,” said John.
The PAN legislator also hopes that in the future Otsus will be able to minimize economic disparities and development in Papua, not only benefiting a handful of parties.
“With Otsus we are able to minimize economic disparities and development in Papua, it is not only beneficial for some parties, it must be evenly distributed to the small community,” he added.
Meanwhile, Frans Maniagasi (Papua Senior Figure) also has the same opinion. According to him, the view of Otsus must be changed so that it can be carried out well.
“Two provinces in Papua have funds reaching Rp. 62 trillion, it should be able to prosper. All Papuan positions Almost 95% are occupied by local men themselves, but Papua has not developed either until now. What’s the matter, let’s be honest, “said Frans Maniagasi.
In addition, Mamat Alkatiri (Comicus from Papua) suggested that all stakeholders who are responsible for the welfare of Papua are open to each other and have the courage to open themselves to dialogue with one another.
“Dialogue is the key, in the name of justice, the state must have the courage to invite Papuans to talk, especially regarding the reconstruction of Special Autonomy so that the welfare of the Papuan people can be realized”, “said Mamat.
Previously, the government through the Minister of Law and Human Rights (Menkumham) Yasonna Laoly explained that the 2020 Priority Prolegnas contained 13 bills which were the responsibility of the government to prepare academic texts and continue their discussion. Of the 13 bills, one of them is the Papua Special Autonomy Bill.
Notes
Hopefully the statement Special Autonomy The Right Solution will convince all Papuan people to support the continuation of special autonomy. In addition the people in the region should also support the implementation of special autonomy, watch the use of huge fund, and keep on working to improve their quality of life. In the end all conflicting ideas, such separatism and communism revolution will vanish in Papua and West Papua province.
