Jayapura (ANTARA) – Papua Governor Lukas Enembe has asked the newly inaugurated interim regent in seven of the 11 districts that organize the 2020 regional elections to ensure a safe and smooth implementation.

“I have gathered the interim officials of the regent and gave directions regarding the implementation of regional elections in their respective regions,” said Lukas in Jayapura, Tuesday.

According to Lukas, his party has also explained and reminded the main duties and functions (tupoksi) of each interim regent who will only serve for three months.

“Moreover, if there is no change in the APBD, we must immediately make a new one and implement it,” he said.

He explained the reason was that his party was sure that there were many regents with problems so that the interim district heads had to pay attention to whether the APBD was running or not.

“The interim officials of the regent must be able to ensure that everything goes according to the rules,” he said again.

He added that the main priority program for the interim regent officials is the successful implementation of the 2020 regional elections.

Based on data from the regional elections in Papua Province, there are 11 districts that carry out the 2020 regional elections, namely Keerom, Yahukimo, Yalimo, Boven Digoel, Waropen, Supiori, Asmat, Bintang Mountains, Merauke, Nabire and Mamberamo Raya.

While the seven regent officials include Acting Regent Keerom Ridwan Rumasukun who is also the Assistant for General Affairs of the Papua Province Regional Secretariat, Acting Regent of Waropen Muhammad Musaad who is also Assistant for the Economy and People’s Welfare of the Papua Province Regional Secretariat, Acting Regent Yalimo Simeon Itlay as Expert Staff to the Governor of Papua, Acting Regent Yahukimo Hosea Murib who is the Expert Staff to the Governor of Papua.

Then the Acting Regent Asmat Triwarno Purnomo who is also the Expert Staff to the Governor of Papua, Acting Regent Boven Digoel Paskalis Dedep who is also the Expert Staff to the Governor of Papua and Acting Regent of the Star Mountains Jimmy Wanimbo who is also the Head of the Regional Secretariat of the Papua Province Government Bureau.
