Shooting cases in Intan Jaya

Timika – The Joint Fact-Finding Team (TGPF) to investigate the shooting case arrived in Timika, Papua yesterday. Today, TGPF is moving towards Sugapa, Intan Jaya.

Chairman of the Joint Fact Finding Team Benny Mamoto said the team had been in Timika since Wednesday due to transit and today moved to Sugapa to find facts about the shooting that killed 2 TNI members, 1 civilian and 1 priest.

“Today we are moving towards Sugapa to start taking information about the shooting case at Intan Jaya,” said TGPF Chairman Benny Mamoto when met at the Horison Hotel, Timika, Papua, Thursday (8/10/2020).

The team led by Benny Mamoto numbered 18 people. The team also consists of elements from community leaders, religious leaders, traditional leaders, and academic figures.

At 07.05 WIT the group departed from Mozes Kilangin Timika airport to Sugapa Airport using two charter planes. The team landed at Sugapa Intan Jaya airport, at 8:32 WIT.

Previously, TGPF had prepared an activity plan to investigate the shooting case in Intan Jaya, Papua. TGPF emphasized that it will answer the confusion of information related to the incident that killed two TNI members and two civilians.

“As of the issuance of the decree, we immediately worked to compile a plan for data collection and field information activities. Because of our job as a field investigation team. We have already compiled the plan and we may move immediately,” said Chairman of TGPF Intan Jaya, Benny Mamoto in a meeting at the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs. which was broadcast via YouTube, Kemenko Polhukam, Monday (5/10).

Benny emphasized that his team will openly reveal this case. As well as answering the confusion of information related to this shooting.

“We want to make light of this incident, that’s the key. We want to make light of this incident from the confusion of information currently circulating,” he explained.
