TPNPB OPM stated that it rejected the team formed by the government and asked another team to investigate it.

“TPNPB is responsible, that’s our decision, and with demands, we reject the investigation team formed by the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD and we ask an independent team that must investigate, namely the United Nations, Komnas HAM, Human Rights NGOs, and the church,” said the spokesman for the TPNPB OPM, Sebby Sambom, when confirmed, Friday (9/10).

On the other hand, the TNI said, the armed separatist criminal group (KKSB) again committed heinous acts by carrying out brutal attacks. KKSB opened fire on the TGPF Intan Jaya group who were about to investigate the death of Pastor Yeremia.

The shooting of the TGPF Intan Jaya group took place on the incline of Wabogopone, Mamba Village, Sugapa District, Intan Jaya, Papua after a group of TGPF Intan Jaya vehicles carried out the crime scene in Hitadifa, Intan Jaya, Papua.

“The shooting took place on 9 October 2020 at 15.45 WIT when the TGPF group was on their way home and arrived at the Wagonopone incline, Mamba Village was suddenly shot from the right and left of the road,” said the Head of Information for the Joint Defense Region III Command, Colonel Czi IGN Suriastawa. , in Papua, Friday (9/10).

According to Suriastawa, as a result of the shooting, TGPF member Intan Jaya, on behalf of Bambang Purwoko, who is a lecturer at Gajah Mada University, was shot in the left leg. Another victim, a TNI member named Zainuddin, was also reported to have been shot in the waist.

“Currently the two victims were immediately evacuated to the UPTD RSUD Sugapa to get intensive care,” he said.

He said that the shooting incident proved to the community what KKSB had always been doing. This time they deliberately hindered TGPF’s performance. Currently, the TNI is pursuing the perpetrators who fled into the forest around the location of the shooting.
