Jakarta (ANTARA) – Member of Commission I DPR, Yan Permenas Mandenas, was shocked that the TGPF member formed by the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs, was shot by unidentified people in Mamba Bawah Village, Hitadipa District, Intan Jaya Regency, Papua , and he hopes the security problems there can be resolved soon.
In his statement in Jakarta, Friday (9/10), he stated, “Earlier, we were also surprised to hear that two groups from the fact-finding team formed by the Coordinating Minister for Political and Human Rights were shot. This shouldn’t be happening. Moreover, one of the teams is a UGM lecturer. We hope that both of them will get well soon and the problems in Intan Jaya will be resolved soon. “
He also highlighted the performance of law enforcement officers in Papua, especially in the intelligence unit because there was interference with the fact-finding team of the death of Pastor Yeremia Zanambani.
“If our intelligence is good. No fact-finding team should have been shot. This means that if the location of the incident is still vulnerable, the authorities can remind the team to be careful or postpone carrying out their duties, until conditions are stable there,” he said.
Papuan politician Yan Mandenas continues to monitor and discuss with his colleagues in Commission I of the DPR, what is happening in Papua, especially in Intan Jaya District.
He issued statements to people calling themselves the Free Papua Organization National Liberation Army (TPN OPM) based in Intan Jaya Regency, Papua, to stop the violence, which resulted in fatalities.
“I don’t want to corner anyone, but don’t make the community a victim. Stop the violence because there is space for dialogue that can be used, rather than shooting between armed groups of people with the TNI and Polri, “he said.
