Jayapura (ANTARA) – The Papua Province State Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Disaster Task Force distributed 5,000 masks to eight districts and cities in its territory as part of the BUMN Ministry’s 500 thousand free mask program.
John S. Yarangga, the Regional Coordinator of the Papua Province BUMN Disaster Task Force in Jayapura, Friday, said that specifically for the City and Regency of Jayapura, these masks were distributed at three points namely Hamadi Market, Entrop Terminal and Sentani.
“The distribution of masks is a form of BUMN’s concern for the community in facing the new normal era where the details for the City of Jayapura are 400 packs with three in total 1,200 masks and Jayapura Regency totaling 267 packs with 3 contents in total 801 masks so that in total for the two areas a total of 2001. masks, “he said.
According to John, in facing the new normal adaptation era, there are three health protocols that must be followed, namely wearing a mask, diligently washing hands and maintaining distance.
“In this case we want to participate in supporting society in facing the new normal era through masks,” he said.
In line with John S. Yarangga, Mama Ike, a sago seller at Hamadi Market, said that the masks distributed were very useful, because the market is one of the meeting places for many people.
“Many people who come to the market do not wear masks so that the masks distributed by BUMN are very useful,” he said.
He added that his party hopes that this distribution of masks can remind the public of the importance of health protocols in facing the new normal adaptation era.
Just to note, this socialization activity in the form of mask distribution will also be carried out in several other districts such as Biak Numfor, Yapen Islands, Merauke, Mimika, Nabire and Jayawijaya.
In addition, the distribution of masks in Jayapura City and Regency was attended by approximately 13 existing BUMNs such as PLN, ANTARA, Mandiri, BNI, BRI, Pertamina, Asabri, Pegadaian, Bulog, Jamkrindo, Jasindo, Askrindo and Telkom.
