Jakarta (ANTARA) – Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating corruption allegations over the construction of the Kingmi Mile 32 Church building in Mimika District, Papua Province.
“The KPK is investigating the church construction project for the first phase of the 2015 budget,” the anti-graft body’s acting spokesperson, Ali Fikri, noted in a statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.
The KPK investigators are currently gathering the required evidence in connection with the alleged graft case of the church construction project by grilling several witnesses, he noted.
The KPK will maintain its principles of transparency and accountability in handling this case as mandated by the country’s anti-graft law.
To this end, the KPK investigators will later make a public announcement after the suspects are arrested, Fikri stated.
